When onboarding a contractor on Contra, the order of operations can vary depending on your immediate needs. Here’s our recommended approach:

Scenario 1: Ready to Kick Off a Project

If you have a project ready to start right away, it’s best to send the project to the contractor for signature first. This approach provides the quickest time to value and ensures that the project begins without delays.

Steps:

  1. Send Project for Signature:

    • Navigate to the project page.

    • Enter the contractor's details.

    • Send the project agreement for signature.

  2. Invite Contractor to Join Contra:

    • Once the project is sent, invite the contractor to join the platform.

    • This can be done by sending them an invitation link via email or directly through the platform.

Scenario 2: Building Your Network

If you want to set up the contractor and build your network before having a project ready to kick off, it’s helpful to invite the contractor to join Contra first. This allows you to have the contractor in your network and ready for future projects.

Steps:

  1. Invite Contractor to Join Contra:

    • Send the contractor an invitation to join Contra.

    • This can be done via email or directly through the platform.

    • The contractor sets up their profile and becomes part of your network.
