Understanding Contra's Fees as a Client

At Contra, we're committed to revolutionizing the freelance marketplace by providing a platform that empowers both contractors and clients. Here's everything you need to know about Contra's fees as a client:

Invoice Fees

There is a flat fee of $29 per invoice for one-off invoices, charged once per month, per project.

Invoice fees support Contra’s payment system. This fee is waived on all invoices sent by Contra Pro members!

Contract Fees

There is a flat fee of $29 per contract for one-time projects, or $29 per month per project for ongoing projects.

Contract fees cover both parties for compliancy, dispute assistance, and help Contra remain commission-free for freelancers,

Processing Fees

Processing fees on Contra vary by payment method. To find out which payment method is best for you, see this article.

Credit Card

2.9% + 30¢ per successful charge for domestic cards, +0.5% for manually entered cards, +1.5% for international cards, +1% for currency conversion.

Ex: On a $1000 payment, you would pay approximately $30 in fees.

ACH (Automated Clearing House)

0.5% capped at $5.00 per successful charge.

Ex: On a $1000 payment, you would pay a $5.00 fee.

SEPA

0.8% + 30¢ capped at $6.00 per successful charge. Includes a 1% currency conversion fee.

Ex: On a $1000 payment, you would pay a $6 fee.

Other Fees

You can post job opportunities without any charge. However, you can choose to boost your job for $199. This will increase the visibility of your job for 30 days (appear at the top of the job feed).
