Contra offers several payment methods, each with its own set of fees and eligibility criteria. This article provides a detailed overview of the available payment methods, associated fees, and steps to gain access, helping you choose the best option for your needs.

Credit Card

  • Fees: 2.9% + 30¢ per successful charge for domestic cards, +0.5% for manually entered cards, +1.5% for international cards, +1% for currency conversion.

    • Example: On a $1000 payment, you would pay approximately $30 in fees.

  • Eligibility: Available to all clients with a valid credit or debit card. Supported cards include American Express, China UnionPay, Discover & Diners, Japan Credit Bureau (JCB), Mastercard, and Visa.

  • How to Set Up:

    1. Click “Add an account.”

    2. Select “Credit/Debit Card.”

  • Fee Score: High

ACH (Automated Clearing House)

  • Fees: 0.5% capped at $5.00 per successful charge.

    • Example: On a $1000 payment, you would pay a $5.00 fee.

  • Eligibility: Request access required. Our payments team will review your account and notify you via email if you are eligible.

  • How to Set Up:

    1. Request access to use ACH.

    2. Once approved, visit Contra Payment Methods.

    3. Click “Add an account.”

    4. Select “US Bank Account.”

  • Fee Score: Low

SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area)

  • Fees: 0.8% + 30¢ capped at $6.00 per successful charge. Includes a 1% currency conversion fee.

    • Example: On a $1000 payment, you would pay a $6 fee.

  • Eligibility: Request access required. Contact hello@contra.com to request access. Our payments team will review your account and notify you via email if you are eligible.

  • How to Set Up:

    1. Email hello@contra.com to request access.

    2. Once approved, visit Contra Payment Methods.

    3. Click “Add an account.”

    4. Select “EUR Bank Account.”

  • Fee Score: Low
