For non-US businesses or individuals, setting up an ACH account can be a bit tricky. This article outlines two options—using Airwallex or Wise—to help you establish a USD ACH account and seamlessly handle payments on Contra.

Option #1: Global Accounts through Airwallex

  1. Go to Airwallex and complete onboarding.

  2. Set up a United States global account.

  3. Fund your account to hold a USD balance.

  4. Obtain your ACH payment credentials (account and routing number).

  5. Visit Contra Payment Methods and set up a US Bank Account.

  6. You may need to complete additional Stripe verification through a micro deposit, which can take 1-2 business days.

  7. Once verified, you're ready to pay!

Option #2: Multi-Currency Accounts through Wise (formerly TransferWise)

  1. Go to Wise and complete onboarding.

  2. Set up a United States bank account - Wise Account Setup.

  3. Fund your account to hold a USD balance - Add Funds to Wise.

  4. Obtain your ACH payment credentials (account and routing number) through Wise Direct Debits.

  5. Visit Contra Payment Methods and set up a US Bank Account.

  6. You may need to complete additional Stripe verification through a micro deposit, which can take 1-2 business days.

  7. Once verified, you're ready to pay!
